Richard McEvoy started playing golf at the age of 8. He played county tennis, badminton and football before deciding that golf was the game for him. He excelled as an amateur winning the Lytham Trophy in 2001 and the Irish Amateur Strokeplay.

Richard was a member of the victorious 2001 GB&I Walker Cup winning squad in America in a team including Nick Dougherty, Luke Donald and Jamie Elson.

Richard won the European Tour Qualifying School in 2003 and has secured a ranking on the European Tour on 5 occasions. He has accumulated 16 top 10 finishes on the European Challenge Tour including 1 victory in the Panasonic Panama Open.

This year has started brightly for Richard with a 7th place finish in the Joburg Open.
