Geraint Jones was England's wicket keeper through their most successful period in the last 20 years. Geraint was born in Papua New Guinea and lived in Australia until he was 22. He briefly played for Glamorgan 2nd XI before consolidating his position as Kent's wicket keeper.
Geraint was rewarded for his consistency with the bat and made his England debut in the West Indies. He played a huge part in England claiming the Ashes and will be remembered for catching Michael Kasporwicz off the bowling of Steve Harmison to win the Edgbaston Test.
Geraint played 34 Tests and 49 One Day Internationals for England and was awarded the MBE in the New Years Honours List of 2006. He also played a key role scoring 85 while supporting Andrew Flintoff in a stand of 177 in the 4th Ashes Test win at Trent Bridge.
Geraint will again be representing Kent for the following season.
