Career

Andrew turned professional in 1995, embarking on a career where he was being touted as one of England's brightest prospects. Before this, he had been voted number one junior in the United States Junior College system, winning four events from fields, including Jim Furyk and Phil Mickleson.

Five months into his professional career, he was bitten by an Alsation, losing 5mm of the top of his finger. Even with this setback, Andrew managed to secure his European Tour Card in 1996. He held his Tour Card a further five times, but was still troubled by the injury.

In 2005, Andrew underwent surgery to stretch the bone in his finger. This was to guard against shrinkage, which was causing him to lose grip at the top of his backswing.

After a year out of golf, Andrew returned to Tour School in 2006, winning one of the 30 Tour Cards available.
